A survivor of the horrors of the 1994 Genocide in Rwanda, Bishop Alexis serves his Lord in the The Anglican Diocese of Gahini on the shores of Lake Muhazi. He, his wife Grace and their four children live in this peaceful secure community.
Seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Bishop Alexis pours his energies, talents and leadership into programs of recovery and development. They include orphan support and education, reconciliation of former enemies, support of widows, creation of books for the illiterate and promotion of an area wide literacy program, and ongoing education for all the priests of his diocese.
He also encourages his people to learn and apply the principles of ownership and economic enterprise and growth. In 2006 he incorporated a program of emotional recovery and growth toward spiritual maturity through the churches.
Seeds of Peace, a beautiful conference center at Gahini that can host up to 500 people, is just one example of the many projects that he has developed to bring hope to the people of Rwanda.
